18.Dec.2007 Adopting the Nature of God in our Lives

….You stand before Him without any Faults…

The House of God should be a place where every person should be and feel accepted. Everything does not change when you meet God. Your humanity will still influence you and be the main contribution to your decision making. To overcome this influence, you must learn to take on God’s character. That takes time and sacrifice.

God will still love you as you Journey towards Him. He will give you His Grace. All God wants is our love, life and trust. The grace of God will cover every little hole in our lives. II Peter 1:3 says that as we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a Godly life….There’s a way for you to escape the decadence and evil of this World. We may live in a dark world driven by humanity, but we can live with light by tapping into God’s Divine Nature. We must live a life that wants to know Jesus better. We are not always going to hit the mark, but if we keep trying, it will build faith and character in our lives. A life of moral excellence leads to a life with God. We need to give Him complete control of our lives. As we begin to move, breathe and live like God does; our whole existence is Gods existence. Our lives develop the nature of God. We begin to know Him! As we get to know God, God’s Nature will manifest itself in us. Our Human Nature will begin to be constrained by God’s Nature. Our Human Nature will not be eradicated, but it’s faults will be replaced by God’s Perfect Nature. Sometimes our Nature will win, but God’s Grace will cover us if our destination remains with God.

We are not called to be separate from this world in a physical sense. We are called to live a life of moral excellence. As we begin to take on God’s attributes, we understand God better. The more that God’s Divine Nature controls our lives, the closer to God we will be. Patient endurance is what leads us to God’s Divine Nature and love for others. We begin with loving other Christians. Paul specifically wrote this: We need agape love in our own communities before the World will buy into our vision. Otherwise, we are being hypocrites. We must have agape. A love not of this world before Christ came to the Earth. We need to have Gods love for others. A kind of love that without Jesus behind it, no one will understand.

This type of love comes by choice not feeling. It was self-sacrificing. Not sensual or familial. It was literally a “love feast”. It holds a high standard. It puts God first, then others, then us. People were welcomed to come to the table and eat for free. Any one could come…they were welcome….complete acceptance…no judgment…ALL are welcome. Shouldn’t this begin with our own Church? Why don’t we stop holding our own friends to a standard that even God doesn’t hold us to? Have GRACE. Don’t judge. This attitude will appeal to the World. We will reflect the Heart of the owner of the House….God’s House.
