Luke 2:8-20 “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,”Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”
The shepherds in the natural came to worship a shpeherd in the spirit. Shepherds are caretakers for their sheep. They watch over tham, and protect them from all harm. When a sheep runs off, the shepherd follows it and brings it back to the herd. Sheep need the shepherd. Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd. When we wander astray, He follows us, making suer that we don’t get into too much trouble. He protects us, making sure the the wolves who come to destroy us do not have their way. With Him on our side, nothing can hurt us.
Matthew 2:1-12 “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: “’But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.’”Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.” After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.”
When the kings came to see Jesus, they brought gifts fit for a king. They asked Herod where the new king was. The kings proceeded to follow the star until they did find Jesus. The newborn baby was a king, and He still is today. He is the most powerful knig that ever lived. Revelation 19:16 says that on His robe is the name “King of all kings and Lord of all Lords.” Kings know where they are going, and they rule with authority. As subjects, we are not to question or argue what the king decrees.
Jesus Christ is a shepherd and a king. When He is your shepherd, you are His sheep. You are well taken care of. He restores your soul. He protects you from everything that could ever come against you. He knows what you need, and He delivers it. When He is your king, you are His subject. You must bow to Him. You must carry out what He decrees in your life. Love your neighbors as yourself. Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not cheat. Consequences will come when you disobey the king. Are you ready to make Him your king? Are you ready for the responsibility of becoming a subject instead of just a sheep?

Ephesians 4:1-4 (NLT): Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
Acts 16:16-31 (NLT):One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her. Acts 10: In Caesarea there lived a Roman army officer named Cornelius, who was a captain of the Italian Regiment. He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God. One afternoon about three o’clock, he had a vision in which he saw an angel of God coming toward him. “Cornelius!” the angel said.
Cornelius stared at him in terror. “What is it, sir?” he asked the angel. And the angel replied, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering! Now send some men to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter. He is staying with Simon, a tanner who lives near the seashore.” As soon as the angel was gone, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, one of his personal attendants. He told them what had happened and sent them off to Joppa. Read more ›

Isaiah 62:6-7: “O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord. Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.”
1 Peter 2:5: “And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.”
As members of a flock, a certain church, we often feel as though we are not able to pray to God, when, in fact, we are all able to pray and have a relationship with Him. God wants everyone to have access to Him, and we do. The temple curtain tearing on the day that Jesus died was significant of just that- the old traditions were broken, and we were all made equal in His sight. We no longer have to go through someone to get to God; we have access to Him ourselves. Read more ›

Isaiah 62:1 & 2 (NLT): Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lord’s own mouth.
Matthew 5:13 & 14 (NLT): “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
Arrange your life around the House. That is a concept that is difficult for most Christians to understand. Mainstream Christians have a habit of keeping the “God-thing” in their life separate from the “life-thing.” Isaiah is urging people to live IN the “God-thing.” Read more ›

The House of God is a place of Love. It is here that the Word of God (logos) and the Revelations found in God’s Word (Rama) mix with Fellowship with fellow believers to begin a transforming of our lives. We thrive in the Love of God in the House of Go, and, in turn, we gain a Love for the House. Read more ›
Isaiah 62:1 (NLT): “Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch.”
As Christians, we are to never stop praying. We cannot remain silent for God’s people. We cannot remain silent for the people that need us. We must keep praying until salvation blazes like a burning torch. The best prayer list you can ever have is the list of contacts in your phone. All you need to do is scroll down the list and pray for every person on it and the ones they love or you can make groups of people and choose witch group you should pray for that day. It’s easy, and contact lists come with almost all phones. The more contacts you have in you phone, the more people you are able to pray for. Read more ›
