Wealth created by a lying tongue is a vanishing mist and a deadly trap. Prov 21:6

Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed. Prov 28:27

Solomon gives us two things that move us away from prosperity and towards poverty. The first is a lying tongue. Doing business with integrity opens you up to all kinds of unexpected blessings. If you are in a services business quote competitively but fairly. Provide 10% more service than your customer is expecting and you will have a customer for life and a raving fan who will bring you more business.

The thing about integrity is that you don't know you have it until you are put to the test. It's found at the moment when you have to make a business decision. Integrity is summoned in a split second of choosing what is right or what is wrong. You can back up from a wrong decision but you don't have much time. It has to be sooner rather than later.

Wealth creation by ungodly means is not wealth at all. You see it for a moment but it vanishes before your eyes. Moreover, you are ensnared like a trapped animal, enjoying no freedom and joy from your wealth. Why do so many rich people commit suicide? I suspect Prov 21:6 has become their reality.

Generosity is also a wealth accelerator. Having no lack or need is a prosperous place to live in. Prov 28:27 indicates neglecting the poor and needy will invoke some kind of curse. A cure is not a spell-like hex from a witch, it's confusion and vexing of the mind so you can't think correctly. Also, think about a curse as something that surrounds you and repels God's blessing and favor on your life.

Sowing and reaping is a biblical truth found all throughout scripture. It's not Karma, it's not some cosmic cause and effect. It's a biblical principle that also works both ways. Sow lies and deceit and reap their rewards. Sow honesty and integrity and reap their rewards. As much as you can attract poverty because of behavior, you can also attract wealth because of Godly behavior.
